Dave Page had a huge influence on many musicians in San Diego that play Irish music. He was a piper, whistle and accordion player, and a very gracious and generous soul. Dave was born on April 17, 1906 in Dublin, the day before the great San Francisco earthquake. He was a student of Leo Rowsome, and played in the Rowsome Quartet as well as the Siamsa Gael Celidhe Band with his brother Tom Page. Dave would later resurrect Siamsa Gael in San Diego, and his students Ian Law, Judy Lipnick, and John Tuohy continue to perform under that name to this day. He lived in London from the late 1930s, and moved to Chicago about 20 years later, retiring to San Diego in the 1970s, where he died in 1987.
